Residential Solar Power
Massachusetts homeowners are actively investing in solar power at a rapidly-growing rate, and for good reason. Not only does a solar photovoltaic (PV) system provide a home with a long-lasting source of clean, renewable energy, homeowners can also benefit from the many state and federal incentive programs that are currently in place. The combination of tax credits and deductions, rebates, and production-based incentives make solar not only affordable but profitable. At SunWind, we help our customers get the most out of these programs by tailoring a system and a finance plan to suit each individual’s needs.
Making solar affordable
Did you know that most Americans overestimate the cost of installing a solar system? Through a variety of ownership options (listed below), the upfront cost of solar power is significantly less than you might expect, and we at SunWind help our customers find the option that is most suitable and affordable.
- Purchasing: When purchased in full, the system owner is eligible to receive all incentives, savings and production revenue. Many customers break even at 2 years.
- Financing: SunWind works with local banks that understand the economics of solar. An especially popular program is the HUD FHA Home Improvement loans offered through Admirals Bank. These are low, fixed-rate loans with no equity or appraisal required that can cover a significant amount, if not all of the upfront cost of installation (for more on these loans, please visit the Admirals Bank website).
- Leasing: SunWind works with REEL which offers a variety of competitive lease options, with terms ranging from 7 to 15 years, and down payments as litte as $0.
